L2 -HGA

L-2-hydroxyglutaric aciduria

L-2-hydroxyglutaric aciduria is a debilitating disease of Staffordshire Bull Terriers, and other breeds. L2HGA is inherited, and is passed on by dogs with a genetic mutation. Symptoms include wobbly walking, fits, muscle cramps and unusual behaviour. We fully recommend buying a puppy that DNA clear by parentage for L2-hga. This is a heartbreaking condition that can be avoided. Please see the YouTube video link below to see how it affects a dog.

Tests are in place now to establish is this will be passed onto puppies, please make sure both parents have been tested and are not just hereditary clear. No dogs should suffer from this as it is preventable.
